About First Time China Guide

First Time China Guide is an independent travel resource for people visiting mainland China for the first time. It focuses on the practical, field-tested side of a trip — the things that quietly break a plan and rarely show up in marketing copy.

Who writes it

The site is run by Stella Guo. It started from a simple gap: most English-language China travel advice is either out of date or written at a distance from what actually happens on the ground. The goal here is the opposite — information checked against real conditions, not recycled from old posts.

What it covers

The first deep dive is mobile connectivity: how to size a China travel eSIM by what you'll really do, what throttling actually feels like, and the install traps that leave people offline on day one. More first-hand, tested topics are being added over time.

This site is independent. It is not affiliated with any carrier or eSIM seller, and nothing here is placed for payment.
