Short answer: Shenzhen is not a one-stop city, and the six places below are not interchangeable. Three of them are municipal parks that open early and close late and publish no ticket price at all, one charges 15 yuan and is free before 08:00 and after 18:00, one charges 220 yuan and will not tell you its hours in advance, and one is a museum that is free and shuts on Mondays. What decides your day is not the order you visit them in, it is which metro exit you come out of and whether the place is open when you get there. Every price and opening time here was read from the venue’s own site or from the Shenzhen government’s park pages on 2 November 2026, and every exit number from the metro operator’s own station pages.

If you are arriving by train, the station you land at decides which half of this list is easy. That trade is on its own page, the Guangzhou to Shenzhen train: which station you pick decides your day. This page starts at the metro gate, not at the platform.
| Place | Open | Ticket | Metro station and exit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shenzhen Museum, History and Folk Culture (Civic Center) | Tue-Sun 10:00-18:00, last entry 17:30, closed Monday | Free, no booking needed | Civic Center, Exit B (museum’s own directions) |
| Lianhuashan Park | 06:00-23:00, last entry 22:30 | — | Children’s Palace, Exit F1, 160 m, about 3 minutes on foot |
| Shenzhen Bay Park | 06:00-23:00 | — | Shenzhen Bay Park, Exits A, C or D2, straight into the park |
| Dameisha Beach | 07:00-23:00, cleared at 22:00, gates shut 23:00 | — | Dameisha, Exit A |
| Fairy Lake Botanical Garden | 06:00-21:30, free 06:00-08:00 and 18:00-21:30, ticketed 08:00-18:00 | 15 yuan, 5 yuan half | Xianhu Rd, Exit C2 or C3 |
| Window of the World | Not published as a fixed timetable | 220 yuan day, 120 yuan night, 110 yuan concession | Window of the World, Exit J |
The dashes are not missing data. Three of these are municipal parks, and none of the three publishes a fare statement anywhere on its official page, so nothing is printed here. The gap is listed again at the bottom of the page.
This is the one entry on the list where the hours matter more than the ticket, because the ticket is avoidable. The garden is open 06:00-21:30 every day. Between 06:00 and 08:00, and again between 18:00 and 21:30, entry is free. Tickets are only sold and checked between 08:00 and 18:00, and that is when you pay: 15 yuan for an adult, 5 yuan for a child between 6 and 18 or a full-time student with a student card.
So a 07:00 start costs nothing and a 09:00 start costs 15 yuan, for the same garden. The same page carries two closures worth knowing before you plan around them: the Shenzhen Paleontology Museum inside the garden is shut for safety work with no reopening date given, and several of the smaller gardens (the shade garden, the cactus and succulent garden, the bonsai garden) open only 09:00-17:00. The garden covers 668 hectares, so this is not a place you walk in fifteen minutes.
Metro: Xianhu Rd station on Line 2/8, Exits C2 and C3 both lead to the botanical garden side of the road. The operator’s own listing gives no walking time.
The History and Folk Culture building sits on the Civic Center block in Futian. It is free, and since 22 July 2024 it no longer needs a booking: you turn up, pass the security check, and walk in. Hours are 10:00-18:00 Tuesday to Sunday, last entry 17:30, closed on Mondays. On statutory holidays it stays open, and it closes on the first day after the holiday instead. A full visit runs two to four hours.
The museum’s own directions say Exit B of Civic Center station. The metro operator’s page for the same station lists Exits E and F on the Line 2 side, so follow the signs for the museum rather than committing to one letter in advance. Line 2 and Line 4 both stop here.
06:00-23:00, last entry 22:30, and the park’s own listing adds a rule that surprises people: no square dancing and no group calisthenics anywhere in the park. The hill is 100 m, the Deng Xiaoping statue square at the top is the reason most people climb it, and the view runs over the whole Futian skyline.
This is the only place on the list where an official page gives you a distance and a walking time: from Exit F1 of Children’s Palace station it is 160 m, about 3 minutes on foot. Line 3 and Line 4 both serve that station.
Open 06:00-23:00, with no ticket price published on its official page. It is not a park with a gate and a centre; it is a 13 km strip along the north shore of Shenzhen Bay made of 14 separate theme areas, from the mangrove reserve at the east end to the bridge viewpoint at the west. Exits A, C and D2 of Shenzhen Bay Park station (Line 9) come out directly into it, which matters because the wrong exit puts you on the inland side of Binhai Boulevard with a long walk to a crossing.
One practical addition: the Egret Slope bookshop inside the park is open 10:00-20:00, and the nearest station to that end is Hongshuwan South on Line 9 and Line 11.
07:00-23:00, with the beach cleared at 22:00 and the gates shut at 23:00. The sand runs about 1.4 km along a 20 hectare park. Exit A of Dameisha station on Line 8 comes out on the park side of Yanmei Road, and Exit B does the same from the other end of the station, so either works.
The line to remember is that the park is 30 km east of Futian. It is the only place on this list where the journey, not the queue, is the cost.
130-odd scale replicas across eight zones, and a ticket structure with three numbers: 220 yuan for a full-day adult ticket that also covers the evening if you do not leave the park, 120 yuan for the night ticket with entry after 18:00, and 110 yuan for the concession ticket. All three are the operator’s own reference prices, and the operator says the ticket types and rules that apply on the day are the ones shown in its own booking mini-program.
On hours, the official site does not publish a fixed timetable at all. Its notice says the September park hours were adjusted and that visitors should follow the notice posted in the park on the day, or the booking mini-program. That is the answer, not a gap: there is no fixed hour to quote.
Metro: Window of the World station on Line 1 and Line 2. Exit J comes out at the pyramid, which is the park entrance side. The operator lists Exits A, B, C, H, I and J as open and marks K as temporarily closed.
Shenzhen has two rail doors that matter for this list. Shenzhen North is on Line 4, Line 5 and Line 6, inland in Longhua. Shenzhen station is in Luohu, at the Hong Kong border, and sits on Line 1. Which one you use changes the stop count to every place above, so here are both, counted from the operator’s own station order rather than converted into minutes.
| Place | From Shenzhen North | From Shenzhen station (Luohu) |
|---|---|---|
| Civic Center | Line 4, 6 stops | Line 1 to Grand Theater, 3 stops, change to Line 2, 4 stops |
| Children’s Palace (Lianhuashan) | Line 4, 5 stops | Line 1 to Laojie, 2 stops, change to Line 3, 5 stops |
| Window of the World | Line 4 to Civic Center, 6 stops, change to Line 2, 10 stops | Line 1, 14 stops, no change |
| Shenzhen Bay Park | Line 4 to Shangmeilin, 3 stops, change to Line 9, 8 stops | Line 1 to Chegongmiao, 10 stops, change to Line 9, 2 stops |
| Xianhu Rd (Fairy Lake) | Line 4 to Civic Center, 6 stops, change to Line 2, 9 stops | Line 1 to Grand Theater, 3 stops, change to Line 2, 5 stops |
| Dameisha | Line 4 to Civic Center, 6 stops, then one through Line 2/8 train, 18 stops | Line 1 to Grand Theater, 3 stops, then one through Line 2/8 train, 14 stops |
Four things about the network itself, all from the operator:
Three things are missing from this page on purpose rather than filled in from memory.
For this list, no. Lianhuashan, the museum and Shenzhen Bay Park sit within a few stops of each other in Futian and Nanshan and fit into one day. Dameisha is 30 km east and eats half a day on its own. Fairy Lake needs a morning, and Window of the World is a full day by design.
The museum is free and needs no booking. Three of the parks publish no fare statement, so this page does not call them free. Fairy Lake is free only between 06:00 and 08:00 and after 18:00. Window of the World is the only one on the list that is unambiguously a paid ticket at every hour.
Yes. Since 10 September 2026 every gate on the network takes contactless Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB and UnionPay cards, and the fare is converted and charged automatically.
The Shenzhen Museum. Its other three venues follow the same rule. The parks and the beach do not close on Mondays, and Fairy Lake’s smaller gardens follow their own 09:00-17:00 hours.
